Letter from the MTI - SSW Cost Control Seminar Chairperson Cheryl Botti
Several years ago a Materials Technology Institute member asked how his colleagues were addressing the high cost of materials, fabricated equipment and all things chemical plant related. As often happens with MTI this led to an interesting discussion about how MTI could help its member companies address the problem. Many options were considered and in the end we decided a conference in conjunction with Stainless Steel World 2010 would be a great forum for an exchange of information on how the chemical, petroleum and pharmaceutical industries are approaching cost control. While all this was going on the global recession happened and cost control took on a whole new meaning. We believe the significance of cost control is even greater now than it was when this effort started and this meeting comes at a great time. On behalf of MTI I invite you to join us as either a presenter or attendee as we explore how our industry is approaching cost control in the face of challenging economic times.
