Following on from the successful Duplex America Conference in February 2000, Houston this year again hosted the Stainless Steel World America 2002 Conference & Expo, which was held from 12 - 14 February at the Wyndham Greenspoint Hotel. With around 170 delegates attending the Conference and exhibiting companies at the Expo, the event can be characterised as a focused and high quality meeting point for professionals within the stainless steel community. Indeed it had a lot to offer such as a Baytown sightseeing tour, 12 workshops, 35 paper presentations, a Conference dinner and loads of opportunity to see new products and meet materials specialists, engineers, procurement managers and the like from American and European end users and suppliers. Consecutive to the Conference & Expo, a golf tournament had been organised by Tubacex and AvestaPolarit to help delegates get some relaxation. Looking at the response from delegates and visitors there is reason enough to call the event a success!
