"I had been invited on Friday the 20th October to the opening of Noxon’s new facility
in Helmond and celebration of their 16th Anniversary. Noxon has become one of
Europe’s leading stockists and distributors of stainless steel materials for the
process industry.
Noxon was first established in August 1990, unfortunately during the first
quarter of 1991, the Gulf War broke out and as a result, stainless steel prices
dropped by 70% and Noxon lost millions on their stock. Since then, Noxon, through
their determination and hard work, have managed to expand and grow into the
company we see today. Something of a military style accomplishment in itself.
And what struck me during the day was that the companies success, since those
difficult months following the Gulf War, has been well deserved.
I arrived at Noxon’s new facility along with a large, distinguished, list of
guests, to be greeted by a red carpet, security and a welcoming drink. From
the start of the event there was a feeling of a well oiled machine gently rolling
into action. Throughout the day all the invited guests, ranging from manufacturers
to end users, facility designers to constructors, infrastructure support to
transport suppliers, were treated to a guided tour of the new facility, buffet,
refreshments and later a band and stage show. A total of 500 guests from 16
nations. Guidance and information about the days proceedings was provided on
stage by none other than our very own KCI compare, Donald Wiedemeyer.
The group, I was a member of, was guided through the new facility by Noxon’s
Marketing Manager, Stefan Zwickardt and we were shown an impressive, clean and
well organised working environment, utilizing the latest storage and supply
technology with demonstrations provided by well presented employees keen to
answer any questions that the group put to them during the tour. Then following
the tour we were invited to partake in an enjoyable buffet meal with drinks,
served within a relaxed atmosphere enabling some serious networking.
The following day there was to be a family open day, inviting friends and family
members of the employees to also experience their new working environment and
after… Party! Work hard play hard! Boy would I like to have been invited to
that party!
Noxon. Thanks for a great day and congratulations to all the Management and
employees that have made, not only this event, but Noxon the success it is today."
