Stainless Steel World 2007 Conference and Exhibition, held from 6th - 8th
November, and including a plant tour to Ugine & ALZ on 9th November broke every record
set up at previous shows. There were 225 exhibiting companies taking part at
the expo and more than 320 delegates who went to the conference. In both cases,
there were more than ever. Although Stainless Steel World Conferences & Expos
are very well-known for their good and high quality of the visitors, this time
the quality of the visitors was even higher than expected. Also, in addition
to this the number of visitors which is increasing since the first event in
1999, made a large step upwards. This time, more than 4500 people visited the
MECC
in Maastricht, the Netherlands, to attend the conference and/or see the exhibition.
Especially the conference was very well attended. The workshop of Mr Markus
Moll (SMR) about the status quo and future trends of stainless steel on Wednesday
and the presentation of Mr Schwind (Outokumpu) about the comparison of low
nickel
stainless steels and AISI 304 were the two most attended sessions of the conference.
In both cases, the rooms were so popular that people were even standing outside
the rooms only to be able to listen to the sessions held inside.
